Coronavirus case confirmed at primary school in small Sligo village

A primary school in a small Sligo village has confirmed a case of coronavirus.

It is not yet known whether the bug was picked up within the school or outside.

It is understood the school is currently following the HSE's coronavirus guidelines.

All parents have also been informed about the positive case.

The school declined to comment on the incident when contacted by the Irish Mirror.

The HSE and Government recommendations here in Ireland advise that schools should contact the one of the Departments of Public Health within the HSE before taking a decision on whether to shut down, if there is a suspected or confirmed case of Covid-19.
