Work to make Byres Road wider to ensure social distancing throughout the coronavirus pandemic will start today
New measures put in place today aim to widen existing footways, allowing people to physically distance.
Although some shop owners throughout the city have complained the widened streets result in a lack of footfall, traffic bosses say the measures will allow people to queue closer to shops.
The works will start tomorrow, on Friday 2 October, and are expected to be completed by Friday 23 October.
The temporary street measures will be in place for a minimum period of 10 weeks.
