Coronavirus breakdown in Northern Ireland shows 1,084 positive cases in under 40s this week

The Department of Health reported a further ten deaths linked to coronavirus on Monday.

On their daily dashboard update, the death toll in Northern Ireland had risen to 996.

And a total of 290 new cases of the virus were reported over the last 24 hour reporting period bringing the total number of cases here to 52,465.

In the last seven days, there has been a rise in positive cases of Covid-19 by 2,505.

The highest reported rise has been in the 40-59 age group (766) this week, the Department says.

In terms of testing in different LGDs, Belfast has had the highest daily rise in positive cases of the virus today (41), followed by Derry City and Strabane (37) and Mid and East Antrim (34).

The Department of Health has reported that there are currently 427 coronavirus inpatients across 21 hospitals in Northern Ireland.

Their figures show there have been 3,774 discharges and 4,201 admissions to date.

And figures reveal there are 36 Covid-19 confirmed patients in ICU - 29 of which are on ventilation.

On Monday November 30 at 10am the DoH reported there are 15 unoccupied ICU beds.
