Coronavirus: Boris Johnson 'will not take part in PMQs' despite returning to No 10 three days ago

Boris Johnson will not face Sir Keir Starmer at the weekly session of prime minister’s questions – despite returning to No 10 to resume his responsibilities three days ago.

The Independent understands Dominic Raab, the first secretary of state, will step in for the PM and the Labour leader will still attend.

It comes after the prime minister delivered an address to the nation on Monday – his first public appearance since leaving St Thomas’ Hospital – telling the public there were signs the country was “turning the tide” against Covid-19.
