Coronavirus: Bolton legend Ivan Campo's X-rated blast at politicians over 'continuous lies'

Ex-Bolton centre-back Ivan Campo posted a Twitter message expressing his fury at Spain's politicians as the country continues to suffer amid the coronavirus crisis.

Spain has been one of the worst-hit nations by COVID-19, with over 1,700 people having lost their lives and almost 25,000 cases having been confirmed in total.

Their prime minister Pedro Sanchez has come under criticism for his handling of the global pandemic, and Campo is clearly not a fan.

Writing on his social media accounts, he said: "After the balls of hearing so much falsehood and continuous lies from all the politicians of Spain, who put on their medals knowing that a global pandemic was coming, and they have not lifted a f******g finger.

"Every day it gets worse because of their f*****g incoherence and incompetence.

"I also read now that the Prime Minister is extending the state of alarm for the coronavirus crisis by another 15 days from today.

"But did you not make a press conference yesterday and could you communicate it to the nation? What f*****g world do YOU live in?"

Campo also paid tribute to former Real Madrid president Lorenzo Sanz, who died on Saturday after contracting coronavirus.

He continued: "My condolences to the family after the death of Lorenzo Sanz, former President of Real Madrid. Thank you for taking care of me and helping me as if I were part of your family in those difficult days."

Sanz spent five years at the helm at the Santiago Bernabeu, during which the Los Blancos won two Champions League titles.

He was an influential figure at Madrid, and was responsible for hiring former England boss Fabio Capello as manager, while he also signed the likes of Brazilian legend Roberto Carlos, Argentine star Fernando Redondo and Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf.

Campo is regarded as a Premier League cult hero after surprisingly joining Bolton from Madrid in 2002, where he spent six years before moving onto Ipswich.
