Coronavirus: Backstreet Boys perform 'I Want It That Way' from their living rooms for charity concert

Backstreet Boys have reunited (sort of) for a rendition of their famous hit “I Want It That Way” – albeit with each member sequestered in their respective homes.

The five-piece boy band recorded themselves each singing their verses on the track for Elton John’s Living Room Concert for America.

The special benefit saw a number of stars, including Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish and Lizzo, perform and appear via their webcams in aid of charities Feeding America and the First Responders Children’s Foundation.

Backstreet Boys, made up of AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell, taped their appearances from five different locations – including Atlanta, Georgia and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Carter and Richardson were also accompanied by their children.

Elton John’s Living Room Concert was the first US benefit concert devised to support Americans affected by coronavirus. Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Sam Smith and Mariah Carey also appeared in the special.

During her performance of “Always Be My Maybe”, which was recorded in her home studio, Carey was supported by back-up singers and a keyboardist based in separate locations.

At its climax, Carey revealed that she has been wearing gloves around her own home in order to keep safe from COVID-19.
