Guidelines on keeping employees safe during the coronavirus pandemic are set to be published within hours of a government row.
Boris Johnson told the Commons the advice would be published tonight after advising people who cannot work from home to leave their homes to do so.
Johnson also said his government was counting on employers to be "reasonable" in dealing with those staff who might not be able to return to work because of difficulties with childcare.
"We will be publishing the guidelines on places of employment today, tonight," Johnson said.
"Transport will be out tomorrow and we're being very, very consistent in what we've said throughout this period. At the very beginning we said that you should stay at home if you can, go to work if you must. What's changed now is the emphasis and the encouragement we are giving people to follow the initial guidance."
Today the Labour leader slammed the PM for telling Brits to return to work - before the guidance about keeping them safe while doing their jobs had been published.
Sir Keir Starmer told the Commons the country needs "clarity" from the Government.
He said: "What the country needs at this time is clarity and reassurance and at the moment both are in pretty short supply and at the heart of the problem it seems is that the Prime Minister made a statement last night before the plan was written, or at least finalised."
