A further 525 people have been diagnosed with Covid in Scotland in the last 24 hours, new figures show.
Data has been produced this afternoon by the Scottish Government as part of its national COVID-19 daily briefing.
In terms of the rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, North Ayrshire stood at 113.6 as of Friday, February 26. In East Ayrshire, it was 130.3 while it was 66.6 in South Ayrshire.
Tragically, there have been another 18 deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, including one within the NHS Ayrshire & Arran region, which means 7,129 people have passed away since March.
However, data from the National Records of Scotland (NRS) shows 9,347 deaths had been registered up to Sunday, February 21 where the disease was mentioned on the death certificate.
Across the UK, the figure was 122,415 as of last night.
The number of positive coronavirus cases recorded by NHS Ayrshire & Arran has increased by 28 to 15,325.
There are five people, within the health board's region, in intensive care with confirmed COVID-19 which is a reduction of four from yesterday.
In addition, the number of people in hospital with confirmed coronavirus at midnight was 109 which is significantly down 15 on yesterday.
A total of 201,512 positive tests have been recorded since the end of February from 1.681 million tests carried out.
Across Scotland, as of 8.30am this morning, a total of 1,570,153 people had received the first dose of their Covid vaccine with 72,178 having received their second dose.
