Coronavirus: Ayrshire businessman launches hilarious custom face masks

A graphic design firm is aiming to put a smile back on folks’ faces with a hilarious new range of personalised masks.

Face coverings have become part of our daily lives as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

But now customers of Auld Lang Signs in Irvine can order masks customised with photos of the lower half of their own faces.

Owner Graham Crawley came up with the idea while working on a project with Kilwinning band Vukovi.

He said: “The band’s album artwork has a cartoon face on it and the lead singer wanted it recreated on a mask.

“It just gave me the idea to use real faces, so I knocked up a few examples and it worked brilliantly.

“We’re already working on orders and 12,000 people have seen a Facebook ad we’ve ran.”

It’s not the first time Graham’s line of work has come in handy during the pandemic.

Back in April he launched wheelie bin stickers poking fun at life in lockdown with the slogan: “2020 The year ma wheelie bin went oot mair than me.”

“Ironically, we’re one of those businesses who in a perverse way have benefited from the pandemic,” added Graham.
