Aston Villa's sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch feels the Premier League should not relegate any teams this season amid the coronavirus crisis.
League officials are currently deciding how to conclude the remainder of the campaign, with several options on the table.
One proposal is to scrap relegations completely, allowing all three clubs in the drop zone a lifeline to stay and compete in the Premier League again next term.
Villa are currently one of the sides in danger of going down as they sit one from bottom in the table with 10 games left to play.
Pitarch told Cope's 'Game Time' : “At Aston Villa we are beginning to think about this.

“If the peak of the Coronavirus is to occur in May, no one thinks of a competition in which players, coaches, and health personnel of the club will continue to appear every day.
“There are clubs that do not see admissible that the competition resumes on June 30th.
“The most reasonable thing that everyone thinks is that, if the league has to be stopped, that there are no relegations. There is a certain unanimity that there should be no descent."
Aston Villa have released a club statement distancing themselves from his comments however.
A spokesman said: "The views attributed to Mr Garcia Pitarch are not those of Aston Villa.
"Now is not the time to be speculating about future arrangements for PL football this season."
Norwich and Bournemouth are also currently in the bottom three with Villa, while Watford, West Ham and Brighton are still playing for their safety.
One theory is that the two leading Championship sides - currently Leeds and West Brom - would come up, with no clubs going the other way, making a 22-team division for next season.
Even if the Premier League made that call, that would still leave the title to be decided - though there is little question Liverpool are on course to win it this season.
The teams who would qualify for the Champions League and Europa League would also need to be determined however, which Pitarch feels would prove to be the main stumbling block.
He added: “The biggest discussion is on whether to determine the European positions, to take as a reference the previous season or as it stands this season.”
