Coronavirus: Arsenal tell season ticket holders they plan to play outstanding matches

Arsenal have told fans they are making plans to play their outstanding matches.

They have sent out an email to 3,000 premium season ticket holders today indefinitely extending the deadline for renewals for their tickets which can cost around £6,000-a-year.

There is huge uncertainty over when football will return after the Premier League, EFL and FA all postponed games until at least April 30.

The email read: “We continue to plan on being able to play our outstanding matches. We all want to be back playing football as soon as we possibly can, but only when it is safe to be doing so.

“As a result, we have decided to extend the Platinum Membership renewals deadline while we await greater clarity around the football calendar.

"We are continuously monitoring the situation and we will let you know when a new deadline is confirmed.”

Several clubs have put their season ticket sales on hold and Arsenal's stance will go down well with supporters.

Arsenal have also earned praise for agreeing to pay their casual match day staff in line with the likes of Brighton, Crystal Palace and Manchester United who have made similar gestures.
