Coronavirus: Arnold Schwarzenegger urges fans to self-isolate while feeding carrots to his ponies

Arnold Schwarzenegger has urged his fans to stay in-doors and self-isolate, all while feeding carrots to his two pet ponies.

The 72-year-old Terminator star used an Instagram video to spread valuable information to his followers about how to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.

“The important thing is that you stay at home because there’s a curfew now,” Schwarzenegger said from his kitchen table.

“No one is allowed out,” he continued. “Especially someone who is 72 years old. After 65, you’re not allowed out your house anymore in California, so you gotta stay home. That’s what we do. We don’t go to restaurants, we don’t go to anything like that anymore here.”

Also appearing in the video were Lulu and Whiskey, his ponies, who intermittently munched on carrots alongside their owner.

“We just eat with Whiskey and with Lulu and have a good time and get entertained,” Schwarzenegger said, before pulling the ponies tight to his chest.

“Look at that beautiful smile she has!” he exclaimed.

“No more restaurants, forget all that,” Schwarzenegger continued. “Gatherings, restaurants, gymnasiums are out the window. You stay home.”

Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti announced on Sunday (15 March) that the city was to close all bars, nightclubs, restaurants, gyms and entertainment venues in an attempt to slow the spread of coronavirus.

A number of music events have been cancelled or delayed as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, while film and television production has gone into lockdown around the world.
