Coronavirus: 11 new cases confirmed in Northern Ireland bringing total to 45

Another 11 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Northern Ireland, bringing the total number infected there to Northern Ireland.

As of 2pm on Sunday 15 March, testing has resulted in 11 new positive cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Northern Ireland to 45, Belfast Live reports.

A spokesperson for the Department of Health said: "People with mild symptoms - new persistent cough and/or fever - should stay at home and self-isolate for seven days.

"They will not require testing.

"Protocols on case reporting are being updated. Further information will be provided shortly."

Meanwhile, in the Republic of Ireland, the total number of positive cases so far stands at 129, with 39 new cases being confirmed yesterday.

Two deaths have also been confirmed in the Republic of Ireland.

Across the entire island, the number infected now stands at 174.
