Coronavirus: 11 Glenfrome staff and 60 pupils self-isolate after three cases

A total of 11 members of staff and 60 pupils have been forced to self-isolate after three positive coronavirus cases at a primary school.

Students and workers at Glenfrome, based on Cottisford Road, will have to quarantine for 14 days after three people contracted the virus.

Bristol City Council revealed this evening (Friday) that 18 schools and nurseries had 47 Covid cases this week, forcing more than a 1,000 pupils to stay at home.

On Glenfrome's website it says: "All children will stay in their ‘bubble’ throughout the day, with consistent adults.

"All children must be dropped off at and collected from the correct entrance at the correct time. You must stick to these times so that we can maintain social distancing for adults.

"Please also maintain social distancing when you are at your designated gate. If everyone is on time there should not be too much waiting around.

"If your child is late we will not be able to accept them into school.

"Please also ensure you are on time to collect your child. Late collection of your child will jeopardise everyone’s safety."

What to do if your child has coronavirus symptoms

If your child has a persistent cough, high temperature or loss of smell or taste:

  • get a test to check if your child has coronavirus
  • keep your child at home for 10 days, or until they get a negative test result, and don't have visitors
  • contact your child's school each day to tell them how your child is doing
