Coronation Street viewers will discover what really happened night Seb was attacked

Coronation Street viewers will slowly discover over the coming months what really happened to Seb Franklin and Nina Lucas, it has been revealed.

The pair were brutally attacked by Corey's gang for no reason other than the fact that Nina looked different and, tragically, Seb died as a result of his injuries.

What exactly happened on the night itself has remained ambiguous, but actor Maximus Evans, who plays Corey Brent, has confirmed that soap bosses have told them what was not shown on screen.

Speaking to the Mirror and other news outlets about whether producers had shared with him and the rest of the cast about what happened on the night, he said: "Yes, I hope [viewers will see it] in the future. It's been very interesting because with Covid we've had to change the way that we work on set, especially the two metre rule - it's a very vital thing.

"So it was very hard. And praise to Harry [Visinoni] and Mollie [Gallagher] for their convincing beatings without anyone being there to do the kicking! But I do hope in the future that we do see the full extent of the attack, just to add to that sense of reality as well as how brutal it truly is. "

He also revealed that he was almost cast as his character's victim Seb five years ago.

"It's actually very full-circle," Max said. "I auditioned for Corrie a couple of times throughout the years and i actually got very close to playing Seb when that role first came up.

"So yeah, so I actually screen-tested for Seb when that first came up and I was saying this before to Harry [Visinoni, who played Seb] that it's quite funny that it's really full circle now. But it was around two years ago when I had the audition for Corey.

"At first I didn't really know how to think about it because it was in high school - I wasn't really a student at the time but because the student was younger, and I am quite tall, I'm 6'1, I thought I might look a bit silly in a school uniform.

"But it has been nice to get that role and use that childhood innocence of the character and use my experience throughout education in high school."
