Coronation Street viewers question 'mistimed' storyline as Natasha makes announcement

Coronation Street viewers were questioning the timing of a new storyline.

On Monday night's double trip to the cobbles, viewers saw a flustered Natasha Blakeman looking for Nick Tilsley as their son Sam had dissapeared.

Natasha claimed she and Sam hadn't had a row to lead to him running off, but viewers suspected otherwise when she called him and left him a message suggesting he was mad at her.

After Nick, Natasha and Toyah Battersby all went on the hunt, it turned out that Sam has gone to his grandma Gail's and claimed his mum had dropped him off.

But that wasn't the end of the story as Natasha announced that she and Sam were moving to London - against Sam's wishes - leaving Nick floored.

However, Corrie fans took to social media to question the prospect of the move following the latest real world announcements affecting residents in London and the South East.

"#Corrie its ok Sam, you wont be going to London, its closed," wrote one.

Another said: "London’s in Tier 4. No Salons open so Natasha shouldn't leave #corrie. Mistimed storyline."

"Bit disappointed in Natasha deciding to travel to London especially with the new rules in place. Not sure how I feel about this #corrie," a third added.

A fourth also said: "Opening of a salon in London in Covid? Interesting #corrie #coronationstreet."

Though, we're sure we don't need to explain that the ITV soap is filmed weeks in advance and the scenes will have been filmed prior to any announcements.
