Coronation Street fans were moved by a sweet tribute to a much-loved character in Friday night's episode.
The reference came as Carla was seen preparing for her wedding to Peter Barlow.
Underworld Boss Carla recruited the help of Roy Cropper's niece Nina to help make her wedding dress.
As Nina told the bride-to-be how much work she'd put into the garment, the conversation prompted Carla and widower Roy to reminisce about good times with the late Hayley.
Hayley passed away in 2014 amid a battle with pancreatic cancer.
When her treatment options failed, Hayley made the decision to end her own life choosing to die at home in bed with Roy at her side.
In Friday night's Corrie instalment, Roy and Carla reflected on some good times with Hayley and how excited she'd been to make Carla's dress when she first married Peter back in 2013.
The sweet reference was picked up by many viewers who praised the soap's writing during the dramatic episode.
"I wish Hayley was here' - Aw Carla," tweeted one.
"Oh come on, how are we meant to deal with Hayley mentions this early in the ep?" said another.
While a third emotional fan tweeted: "'I wish Hayley was here' and the tears start."
Fans of the soap have been watching eagerly in recent weeks in the build up to Carla's wedding to troubled Peter Barlow.
As in tradition soap weddings never go accordingly to plan and viewers had been concerned about Peter's battle with alcoholism.
The son of Ken Barlow has been warned that without a transplant he will die.
During the service, Peter faltered a few times but managed to say his vows.
However, when the newlyweds made it back to the Street Peter collapsed.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays and Wednesdays 7.30pm and 8.30pm with an hour long episode at 7.30 on Fridays on ITV.
