Coronation Street viewers make sinister prediction as Audrey Roberts nearly drugged

Coronation Street viewers made a sinister prediction as Audrey Roberts was almost drugged.

Tuesday's edition of the long-running soap continued to explore the activities of the villainous Stephen Reid. The character, played by Todd Boyce, has wrecked havoc on the Cobbles since he murdered Leo Thompkins.

Stephen has been hit by money woes and took a new job as a delivery driver to fund his mum's cruise trip to Norway. He was mocked for his new job in tonight's episode which prompted him to quit.

Stephen has kept his financial problems secret and tried to get out of paying for the holiday by convincing Nick Tilsley that Audrey was drinking again. He went one step further as he tried to almost spike Audrey's drink with anti depressants.

However, he had a crisis of conscience when Sarah Platt interrupted their conversation. Stephen knocked Audrey's drink over at the last minute to ensure she did not have the drugged drink.

Sarah wanted Stephen to give her a lift to a meeting, but the character faced further problems when his car was towed away. He decided to go through with buying the cruise but viewers on Twitter think the increased pressure of his financial turmoil will lead him to kill again.

Tony said: "He’s actually spending his last pennies on a cruise through the Norwegian fjords (which will inevitably cause him to kill again)."

Iain posted: "That hole Steven is digging is getting deeper and deeper"

Louise commented: "Stephen’s in a right mess. Got no car now"
