Coronation Street viewers in meltdown after spotting major 'change' on show

Coronation Street viewers couldn't believe their eyes as they tuned into the ITV soap on Wednesday night.

There was chaos for the teens, as a party at Amy Barlow's house got out of control.

But as the episode began, some viewers were left stunned after spotting a big "change" to the show.

One character in particular looked very different to normal - because they were a different person entirely.

Viewers had been informed a recasting had taken place with Dev Alahan's son Aadi.

The character previously played by Zennon Ditchett is now portrayed by actor Adam Hussain.

With new spoiler pictures released last week, the soap introduced the newcomer to fans.

But as many tuned in to the latest episode on Wednesday night, some were still baffled to see Aadi with a completely different face.

A third commented: "Aadi's regenerated."

Meanwhile a fourth added: "Why has Aadi had a face change??"

Speaking about joining the ITV soap, actor Adam said: "I am excited to play the role of Aadi, putting my own twist on him as the character becomes involved in an important new storyline.

"I was already good friends with Tanisha Gorey, before coming to the street, which helps hugely with portraying the bond of brother and sister."

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednsdays and Fridays at 7:30pm on ITV.
