Coronation Street viewers horrified as Geoff's creepy behaviour takes a darker turn

He's receiving a strong reaction from Corrie fans for his controlling and manipulative behaviour towards girlfriend Yasmeen Nazir - and in tonight's episode Geoff Metcalfe reached a new low.

The two-faced entertainer was unmasked as the person who had 'burgled' Yasmeen's home and stole her precious jewellery and photos.

He took her possessions himself to teach her a lesson after she allowed granddaughter Alya's friends into the house for late night food and drinks and was seen flogging them.

And nasty Geoff took a photograph of her late son, who was killed in a fire in 2015, from a frame and tore it to pieces.

Geoff changed the locks and was secretly pleased when Yasmeen remained jumpy after the ordeal.

Viewers thought he had been caught out when Alya and Ryan Connor spotted Geoff with Yasmeen’s bracelet, but then bluffed his way out of it by producing a receipt and saying it was a replacement.

"Nasty slime ball" tweeted one fan about Geoff.

"God I hate Geoff. Such a controlling manipulating bully," raged another.

"Geoff is so creepy, really don’t like the character," said another Coronation Street fan.

Coronation Street is exploring the disturbing effects of coercive control relationships with Geoff and Yasmeen's story.

Recently viewers have seen Geoff, the father of cabbie Tim Metcalfe, become increasingly controlling while appearing jovial to their friends, family and neighbours.

He sniped at her for being late for a dinner he had cooked and joked he had cooked her beloved pet chicken.

While Yasmeen was nursing a hangover he made her feel guilty for drinking too much, and framed her by pouring water over Ryan's mixing desk at her restaurant Speed Daal.

And after Yasmeen of the restaurant takings he followed her to make her feel uneasy about leaving the house.
