Coronation Street viewers distracted by 'rare sighting' amid Liam's hospital dash

Coronation Street viewers found themselves distracted by a 'rare sighting' amid Liam Connor's hospital dash.

The son of Maria Windass collapsed in the street after struggling to breathe in Monday's double trip to the cobbles.

Liam and Jack Webster were playing a game of football while Sally Metcalfe was bending Maria's ears about her parking campaign.

Suddenly, Liam started gasping, unable to breathe, leaving Maria in a panic.

Things got worse before they got better as when the ambulance arrived for the 12-year-old, it was unable to turn onto the street due to double-parked cars.

Eventually, Ronnie came to the rescue and moves his car to let the ambulance through as a paramedic gives Liam oxygen.

But viewers found themselves shouting at the TV as they spotted vital mistakes in Liam's collapse scenes.

That wasn't all they were talking about though as they were distracted for another reason.

And that was by Kevin Webster's son Jack who they were surprised to see - and looking much older.

"A rare sighting of Jack Webster," tweeted one.

Another asked: "Has Jack got a new head he looks different?"

"Has Kevin been feeding Jack on miracle Gro for the last few months? He's huge," a third joked.

A fourth commented: "When did Jack Webster get so old? And why the hell did he just stand by while Liam was casually dying? #corrie."

"10-year old Jack Webster being played by 14-year-old Kyran Bowes is now starting to look wrong, which is a shame. New head incoming? #Corrie," another said.

Aside from a different-looking Jack, Liam was luckily OK but was diagnosed with asthma.

Maria was shocked to learn from the doctor that air pollution caused by traffic fumes is a common cause of the condition.

The story is part of a new plot for Corrie to highlight the risk of air pollution for children.

The soap has worked with Asthma UK on the storyline and is one of many health storylines Corrie has tackled so far this year following Summer Spellman's diabetes diagnosis.
