Coronation Street viewers were horrified as Shona Ramsey's son Clayton made up terrible lies about her ex, David Platt.
When Shona visited Clayton in prison, she explained she only remembered him as a young boy.
Taking advantage of his mum's memory loss, Clayton told her lies about David, to try to ensure he was top of her affections.
He suggested she get a dog to keep her company when she left the rehab centre.
Shona's key worker Alice, who was sitting in on the meeting, replied: "Well, David would like Shona to go and live with him, so I'm not sure there's room for a dog as well."
"So go back to the estate, you can visit when you like," replied Clayton, suggesting Shona bring him food packages.
Alice looked worried as Shona replied: "Yeah, yeah I guess."
"David would never let you see me if you get back with him," Clayton warned his mum.
"I'm sure that's not true, Clayton," said Alice, insisting David only wanted what was best for Shona.
"He's good at playing Mr Nice Guy, but he never treated her nice," lied Clayton.
"Don't you remember mum? He was always drinking, having affairs, he even hit you one time."
Shona looked horrified as Alice warned Clayton to be quiet, before Shona became highly distressed and hurried out.
Clayton cruelly shouted after Shona that she was a "rubbish mum" just like she had confessed to him she was worried about.
One viewer tweeted: "Clayton dropping poison in poor Shona’s ear #Corrie #CoronationStreet ".
Another wrote: "What does Clayton think he is achieving by poisoning Shona with all these lies. They will end up back together eventually. David just has to fight for her and not seek the edge of death and danger all the time".
