Coronation Street Summer storyline sees fans spot problem

Coronation Street fans were left with many questions after Summer's behaviour around Daniel on Wednesday night's episode.

On tonight's episode Summer got her hopes up for Daniel asking her out, but was left deflated when he had other plans instead.

Summer Spellman, played by Harriet Bibby, has a huge crush on her teacher Daniel, and saw two tickets for The Importance of Being Earnest on Daniel’s desk.

She got excited as he pulled her for a chat in the corridor, as she assumed that he would be asking her out.

Instead, she was left crushed when he just asked her to babysit instead.

Fans took to Twitter to show their disappointment in the storyline, due to the student-teacher relationship.

Tina said: "Summer is smarter than to develop a crush on her teacher. Think they’ve chosen the wrong character. #Corrie."

Pamela said: "Daniel, for such an intelligent man, you sure can't see what's going on under your nose...Summer is smitten...for some reason #Corrie."

Another user said: "Hahaha, talk about deflated! Come on Summer, he's far too old for you, AND, you're meant to be with, Aadi, tut tut tut. #Corrie."

Summer had been working hard to try and get into Oxford in the soap, but now also has her sights set on other goals such as getting Daniel to notice her.

The episode also showed Aadi snap at his dad, Dev, as he pointed out how his dad rescued his sister, Asha, but left him to die in a burning car.

Dev tried his best to reassure his son that he loves both of his kids equally, but when Asha arrived home, Aadi turned his anger onto her.

He said that he spent his whole life playing second fiddle and stormed out of the house.

*Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV and ITVHub
