Coronation Street star Adam Hussain has spoken out about the vile racist abuse his little sister was subjected to.
The actor, who took over the role of Dev's son Aadi Alahan on the ITV soap last year, says that more has to be done to help stamp out this "horrible" behaviour.
Adam, 20, says his 19-year-old sibling was travelling on a tram from Manchester Airport to Cornbrook on Saturday morning when a stranger called her a "terrorist".
After his sister Zarha posted about the incident on Instagram, Adam shared her post on Twitter and added: "My little sister was racially abused by this scumbag when she was coming home from a night shift, 6 in the morning yesterday. It just goes to show how rampant racism still is. #racist #nameandshame"
Adam went on to claim that the driver had witnessed the whole thing but did nothing, and asked for the police and transport authority to get involved.
He later told Manchester Evening News : "My sister is studying at [university] so she’s been doing night shifts to save a bit of money, and she was coming home on the tram around 6 in the morning.
"I find it appalling and outrageous that she has to deal with this - exhausted.
"I hope more is done as people like this think they can say and act in such vile manners and think they can get away with it.

"I feel not many people report this sort of stuff because they feel nothing will be done and can’t be bothered with all the hassle - but that’s what motivates people even more to behave in a horrible way."
Metrolink bosses, who operate the tram system that Zarha was using, say a "full investigation is being carried out" and that they will "fully support Greater Manchester Police with their inquiries".
Damien Chabas, director of Customer Experience, Growth and Innovation at tram operator KeolisAmey Metrolink, said: "We have been made aware of an alleged racial abuse incident on one of our services over the weekend.
"Behaviour of this nature is unacceptable and will not be tolerated on our network."
Adam joined Corrie last year as the twin brother of Asha, played by Tanisha Gorey, taking over the role from Zennon Ditchett who decided to say goodbye to the soap.
Adam said when he was first announced: "I'm so excited to be joining the cast of Coronation Street. Everyone has been so lovely and welcoming and down to earth to work with. I truly feel part of a family.
"Speaking of family, I have always associated Coronation Street with family and togetherness and family time and watching it as one. I can't wait to get back to work but, in the meantime, let's all stay safe and I'll see you soon."
