Coronation Street star shows off amazing weight loss - and fans are really impressed

One of Coronation Street's most popular stars has unveiled a massive transformation.

Colson Smith , who plays fan favourite Craig Tinker, was looking healthy and trim as he showed off the results of his hard work after embarking on a fitness regime of late.

It was very much a case of 'new year, new Craig/Colson' at The Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) Awards in London on Tuesday night when the soap actor wowed fans with his new look.

And viewers flooded Colson's Instagram page with words of support in appreciation of his inspirational overhaul.

One said: "You look ace!!"

Another added: "You look amazing, well done your (sp) smashing it"

One said: "Looking great."

While another added: "Amazing achievement. You look amazing. Well done you."

Colson's life change mirrors that of his police officer character on Corrie.

In the show recently, Craig has taken up running after finding himself out of breath while chasing crooks.

Part of the storyline saw him telling friends he'd be making an effort to get healthier because he'd been bullied at work.

Colson, whose character is the son of Beth Sutherland, has been on the cobbles since 2011.

Craig was heavily involved with the Bethany Platt grooming storyline, which started in 2017 and went on to rescue her when he discovered his girlfriend Kayla Westbrook was the daughter of his depraved former boss, Neil Clifton.

In 2018, Craig was involved with another major plot development, when he was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Coronation Street fans were gutted last week when Craig's mum, Beth, left with Daniel and baby Bertie to go to a retreat in Scotland, where Daniel would be getting some help for his ailing mental health following the tragic death of wife Sinead.

But there's no need to be blue because her absence is temporary, and she'll be back in Weatherfield in no time!
