Coronation Street star Sam's reality TV fame and Michelle Keegan bond

Sam Blakeman's arrival on Coronation Street rocked the Cobbles and he's been involved in drama ever since.

Sam is played by child actor Jude Riordan, who has already had quite the career for someone so young.

The 10-year-old Corrie star, who comes from St Helens, Merseyside, first appeared on our screens in Channel 4 documentary The Secret Life of Five-Year-Olds back in 2017.

He proved to be a big hit in front of the camera and was signed by Paul Byram Associates casting agency before landing his first TV gig.

Sam's voice was cast in the Haribo ads where children provide the voices of adults and he also played Little Phil in the CBBC drama Katy.

The youngster has also bagged the role of Tyler in Sky One comedy drama Brassic - and his on-screen mum is Michelle Keegan.

Sam has since followed in Michelle's footsteps onto the set of Corrie, where his TV mum on the show is actress Rachel Leskovac.

On his parent-run Instragram account, Sam documents his days filming on set and shows his close bond with on-screen mum Rachel.

Posting a snap of the pair, he wrote: "This is how happy I am when my Mum is in. Super fun day with @rachelleskovac on them cobbles. Some really exciting stuff coming up for Sam. So lucky and so lucky to be with Rachel. I love her lots and lots and lots"

On Mother's Day this year, same sent a lovely message to his own mum as well as his on-screen mums.

Sharing some cute snaps, he wrote: "Happy Mother's day to all Especially my Mum, my Corrie Mum @rachelleskovac and my Brassic Mum @michkeegan"

Jude is no stranger to being on the telly, having once taken over BBC Breakfast for the day in 2017 to promote Secret Life of Five-Year-Olds.

But he still finds it amazing to be on the cobbles while doing his school studies at the same time.

On Instagram, he wrote: "Great 2 days @coronationstreet it is still a little bit mad all this first half of the day Jude a school boy, second half Sam Blakeman"

Sam had another big miss on the Cobbles this week as he narrowly avoided getting shot by one of Harvey's minions.

But he was hailed a hero after he managed to remember the shooter's car registration plate.
