Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon curtly snubs I'm A Celebrity 2020

Outgoing Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has ruled out starring on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2020 as she revealed she has far more impressive plans than showering in her bikini in the Australian outback.

The 24-year-old soap beauty has played Bethany Platt on the long-running ITV tea time drama since 2015 - featuring in some of the most high profile (and controversial) storylines in the show’s history.

But her time on the cobbles has come to an end and her character will be written out and leave Weatherfield in 2020 - but Lucy says fans can forget seeing her take part in reality show I’m A Celeb after her soap exit.

While a stint in the jungle has been a stepping stone for many a former soap star (with ex-EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa being a prime example after winning the 2019 series after being sacked from the BBC soap), Lucy hopes to take what acting skills she has learned over the past half decade to better use.

Lucy Fallon may have taken a sly swipe at I'm A Celeb by declaring she'd rather do more acting than star in the long-running reality show (EMPICS)

“I don’t think I’d be very good,” Lucy told The Sun as she explained she would refuse any offer to appear on I’m A Celeb at the end of next year.

And perhaps sticking the knife into the long-running reality show, she added: “I’d like to do more dramas.”

Avoiding I’m A Celeb could be a smart move for the Lancashire lass as public interest in the celebrity reality show appears to have peaked.

The 2019 series saw rating take a dip - with millions tuning out as the 19th series continued to run.

Despite a starry cast including Hollywood reality icon Caitlyn Jenner, chart topping star Nadine Coyle, and football legend Ian Wright featuring in the line up, the show started with less viewers than the 2018 series.

And as the show went on, viewing figures dropped by almost five million - with many fans complaining the series was “boring”.

Another reason for fans tuning out could be that Ant McPartlin returned to co-host the show after a year off.

The 2018 series of I’m A Celeb saw ratings hit their highest ever when Holly Willoughby replaced the Geordie star as he took time out of the limelight following a shameful drink-drive accident which he caused that left a young girl in hospital.

Some viewers campaigned to have Holly return to the show to co-host with Declan Donnelly after they enjoyed the pair presenting the year before.
