Coronation Street's Kimberly Hart-Simpson revealed that she's bisexual while showing her support for the LGBTQ+ community.
The soap newcomer, who plays sex worker Nicky Wheatley in Corrie, opened up about her sexuality during an interview with Lorraine Kelly on Good Morning Britain.
Kimberly, who owns the clothing boutique Hart Work, revealed she had designed a colourful dress, inspired by Pride Month, for her best friend former Hollyoaks star Jessica Ellis with a rainbow-themed design.
Speaking to Lorraine via video link from Bolton, she said it's a ‘really important’ moment for her as she too is part of the LGBTQ+ community.
She said: "It was during Pride Month, so it was really important that we were representing the LGBTQ community and I’m part of that as well."
"I represent the B," Kimberly revealed.
"So for me to do that was really, really important."
Kimberly has made her Weatherfield debut as Nicky who has caught widower Daniel Osbourne's eye - and she says it's the 'proudest moment of her life' to star in the world's longest running soap opera which turns 60 in December.
Fans are yet to find out more about Nicky’s background.
Kimberly played Beverley in Hollyoaks earlier this year and has also appeared in the Sky One comedy Mount Pleasant.
In the Channel Four soap Hollyoaks she played struggling mum Maxine Minniver's ruthless landlady who took away her furniture after she failed to pay her debts.
She also appeared on the soap back in 2017 as the character Davina and was in Mount Pleasant in 2011.
Nicky appeared in Daniel's life when Adam Barlow decided it was time for him to get out and about following the death of his wife Sinead in October.
The pair hit it off but Daniel was shocked when he realised she was a sex worker after she suggested they should make a night for it.
He's since met up with her again in a hotel and paid her £220 as she opened up about missing his late wife.
