She became a household name when she joined Coronation Street in 2006 as feisty Becky McDonald, who was married to Rovers Return landlord Steve until 2012.

Becky was known for her scraps with enemies Tracy Barlow and her own sister Kylie whose son Max she tried to adopt.

After Corrie Katherine has had roles in major TV shows including Happy Valley, the Night Manager, the Doctor Who spin-off series Class and she played DI Karen Renton in the second series of the ITV drama Liar.

She also played Lady Mae in Mr Selfridge.

Katherine married Ryan in a secret ceremony at the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas in August 2013.

She said she had never desired a big white wedding and wanted to enjoy a low-key special day.

She and Ryan had been a couple since a New Year’s Eve party in his native Australia in 2010 and they were inspired to marry in Vegas after they enjoyed a road trip there a few months earlier.
