Coronation Street star Jane Danson's famous husband you will recognise

Coronation Street's Leanne Battersby has been a firm fan-favourite for the past 24 years.

Leanne, played by Jane Danson, first appeared in Weatherfield in 1997 when she was a teenager.

After leaving in 2000, Jane returned four years later featuring in numerous heavy-hitting storylines.

But fans may be surprised to learn that Jane is married to a soap star fans will all recognise.

The 42-year-old is married to actor Robert Beck, who amongst many guest roles, has appeared in regular roles in several soaps.

He starred in Coronation Street from 2008 to 2009 as Jimmy Dockerson, a mechanic and henchman of Tony Gordon, sabotaging the clients of Kevin Webster, reports BirminghamLive.

In 1993 he was playing Peter Harrison in Brookside.

He later went on to star as Gavin Ferris in Emmerdale in 1999.

And he's also been on Waterloo Road as Terry Appleyard, Hollyoaks as Fergus Collins and countless other well known programmes like The Bill and Doctors.

Other roles have seen him play Bombardier Boyd Billington in Bombshell and Dan Thatcher in The Upper Hand.

The couple got hitched in 2005 after meeting at the first Soaps Awards in 1999.

They have two children together - Harry, 19, and 12-year-old Sam.

The couple had planned to have more children but this is no longer a possibility, Jane revealed in 2019.

The Dancing on Ice star said: “Sadly we lost our third child a few years ago – I found out I’d miscarried at the three-month scan.

“It was heartbreaking and it took us a long time to get over it – I don’t think you ever do.

“There will always be that sadness there and there’ll always be that desire, but we’re getting older now and the boys are growing up.

“Sometimes you just have to appreciate what you have.”
