The actress - who plays Abi Webster on the ITV soap - took to social media with a statement that left fans concerned and worried as they rushed to wish her well, send their love and best wishes. They also insisted they would "miss" her.

Sally - who is married to her Corrie co-star Joe Duttine - confirmed she would be taking a break from social media for weeks, leaving fans worried for her as they sent their well wishes to the actress.

Sally has had some big storylines on the soap as of late, including the shock arrival of her baby and the custody battle to keep the little one after falling out with the father of her baby, Imran.

However, Sally doesn't know a lot about what happens on the soap in advance, as she fears she'll spill secrets.

"The brilliant thing about the producers is that unless you actually specifically ask [what's coming up], they don't tell you," she told Digital Spy, "I never ask because I can't hold my own water, so the less I know, the better!

"Or else I'd just be telling you everything – which might be good for you, not so good for me. So I actually don't know, but I know that it's gone quite quiet script-wise, so I'm guessing that she's going to be happy for a bit. Which suits me fine!"

Recently, Abi was battling with a drug addiction, and even considered creating fake passports to get her and Alfie out the country so they could live life together away from Weatherfield whilst she also worked hard to secure custody from Imran.
