Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan's 'mum fail' after 'terrifying' daughter, five

Helen Flanagan has asked her followers advice after her five-year-old daughter has been left terrified, after watching a "scary" film.

Corrie star Helen admitted that she'd done a bit of a "mum fail" by letting her daughter Matilda watch the original Roald Dahl The Witches film around Halloween.

Helen, who is currently pregnant with her third child, said she had completely forgotten that is was "actually quite scary."

Helen said she had "loved" the film when she was younger but had completely forgotten how scary The Grand High Witch was in the original film.

Since Matilda watched the film Helen said she "hasn't been the same" and that she felt "so bad" for letting her watch it.

Helen said: "She's absolutely terrified of the High Witch, she can't stop talking about if witches are real, she keeps getting really, really scared all the time.

"Matilda is such a brave girl, if she falls over she gets straight up and doesn't make a fuss so has anybody got any tips?"

"I think the first film is really good but I think it's quite scary for children, it's quite dark.

"I keep telling her witches aren't real, but she doesn't believe me."

Helen confessed she felt especially bad about scaring her daughter because she herself had been scared of the witch out of Snow White, so felt her daughter's pain.

She said: "I was terrified of her, I used to have nightmares about her, I was just really scared of her when I was a little girl."
