Coronation Street star Harry Visinoni returns to ITV soap despite Seb Franklin's murder

Coronation Street actor Harry Visinoni has been spotted filming new scenes, despite his character Seb Franklin being murdered in May.

The 21-year-old star was pictured on set with actress Mollie Gallagher, who plays his onscreen girlfriend Nina Lucas in the ITV show.

Both Seb and Nina were attacked in brutal scenes, in a shocking storyline which is loosely based on the real-life killing of Sophie Lancaster back in 2007.

Sadly, Seb died from his injuries in hospital which were inflicted by Corey Brent and his nasty friends.

Corey is now in prison awaiting trial while the others in the gang plead guilty.

It's been revealed that Corrie bosses decided to film the attack scenes again after filming restrictions forced them to originally shoot with social distancing in place.

A source explained: "Harry's return means the soap can explore the attack fully as the trial approaches.

"With Corey and Kelly both on trial for Seb’s murder - it hasn't been clear who was ultimately responsible for Seb's murder.

"Viewers will finally learn the truth about who struck the killer blow.

"It’s being filmed safely but fully and will be used in flashback scenes later in the year," they added to The Sun.

Harry looked deep in thought as he took some time in between takes to chat with co-star Mollie.

Mollie was back in her gothic attire and make-up, which fans haven't seen for several weeks now since Nina returned home from hospital.

Coronation Street boss Iain Macleod previously gave fans a glimpse of how the tragic storyline and the upcoming trial will look at the way in which social class affects justice.

"It becomes partly about class going forward,” he told the publication.

“I can't say too much about that but in terms of how the criminal investigation unfolds it becomes about class and background and privilege.

"There are interesting elements that we draw into the story as it unfolds," Iain added.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
