Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank had to clear things up when confused fans congratulated him on his 'engagement'.
The actor plays gay vicar Billy Mayhew on the ITV soap drama and received a shock proposal from his boyfriend Todd Grimshaw.
He recently shared a snap of himself wearing a wedding band and captioned it: "Looks like he’s put a ring on it…" and tagged the series' page.
However, some fans were a little confused on whether he was talking about his character or himself and ended up congratulating him on his non-existent engagement.
The 41-year-old shared a selfie on his Instagram Stories looking rather concerned as he raised his eyebrows and ran his hand through his hair.
"For those lovingly congratulating me on my engagement... " he captioned the snap. "It's my character in @coronationstreet, not me..."
It's the thought that counts, right?
The actor made history on the cobbles by becoming the soap's first gay vicar in 2014.
And recently, Daniel revealed the difficulties of filming love scenes while trying to adhere to strict coronavirus regulations.
As they have to stay two metres apart, he said the cast have got good at “eye sex” to give the impression things are getting heated.
He said showing the couple’s passionate side on the cobbles has been hard.
Daniel revealed: “He’s come back into the show, we’ve had a whole relationship, got engaged, all at a bloody two-metre distance. We’re now so good at eye sex it’s unreal!
“Todd and Billy’s relationship has always felt very hot and passionate and fun. There are things I didn’t even know I could do with my eyes.
"Especially with a mask on, all you’ve got are your eyes. Now I’ve got skills!”

However, the actor also discussed the abuse he gets in the street over the on-screem romance with Todd (played by Gareth Pierce).
Todd broke up Billy's previous relationship with Paul Foreman (Peter Ash).
Daniel, who is single in real life after splitting with boyfriend of two years, former Mr Gay UK Stuart Hatton Jr, added: “The s**t I get in the street from people over this is unreal.
“When I’m out walking the dog I get: ‘you should have chosen Paul, you idiot!’ or: ‘I can’t believe you can’t see what’s going on!’ I’m like: ‘I don’t write it, I just say it!’
“I also get people saying: ‘just don’t bother with either of them. For Christ’s sake there are enough gays in Manchester, why does it have to be those two?’
“I wish my love life was nearly as interesting! He’s got men throwing themselves at him – great!”
