Coronation Street star Colson Smith's secret to huge 10 stone weight loss

Coronation Street actor Colson Smith left fans stunned earlier this year after new pictures emerged of his extreme weight loss.

And the 21-year-old soap star, who plays Craig Tinker, has now opened up about his weight loss regime and new diet.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain last week, he divulged how he had made the most of lockdown.

He said: "When I prepared for this storyline, I said to myself I’ll make it as easy as I can for myself, so I sat down with Rob Brennan who’s a life coach, and we worked through everything I could do to make it as easy as possible.

"So I have my breakfast and lunches delivered and they’re still being delivered now by a company called FitChef which means cooking basically I don’t have to think about I can just eat.

"In terms of the gym: I’ve kind of kept in touch with the gym I go to in Manchester, because they’re putting on loads of training programmes on their app and stuff like that.

"I’ve done the odd Joe Wicks PE! It’s just making the most out of the situation."

Colson has also been documenting his weight loss vias social media, in which he has been shown taking on gruelling fitness drills.

Even his co-stars have been left stunned by his new physique, with Brooke Vincent commenting on a recent photo: "Erm! Sorry! Who is this!!!!!!!"

Colson's dramatic weight loss has prompted many Corrie fans to question how producers will deal with continuity as his character Craig takes on a different dynamic.

This could be answered by the announcement that a number of storylines will be scrapped so that the soap can begin again in a post coronavirus world, with new stories coming from that.

*Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
