Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley 'almost vomited' on Strictly partner

Catherine Tyldesley has revealed that rehearsals for Strictly Come Dancing have been so punishing, that she almost vomited on her partner.

The former Coronation Street star has been excited about being part of the popular BBC dance competition but has found preparations tough going so far.

In an honest video posted to her Instagram page, Catherine has opened up about how tough training has been so far and that professional dancer Johannes Radebe had pushed her so hard that it left the actress 'retching'.

This year's Strictly stars are now in a period of intense practicing, as they try to get up to speed ahead of the first live show in a few weeks time.

Catherine Tyldsley has been paired with Johannes Radebe (BBC/Kieron McCarron)

The 35-year-old posted a video update after her latest rehearsal and admitted that she was having trouble remembering the steps for the dance.

She captioned the post: "Bless you for putting up with my heaving and SHOCKING memory"

Speaking to the camera, Catherine said: "Do we really want to talk about what happened?"

After giggling, Cath continued: "It's all going to be okay... I wasn't sick. I didn't vomit on you yet... I retched."

Johannes confirmed this, saying: "She did... it's fine, it's okay."

Catherine finished by assuring her followers: "It's day two, nobody panic. I am going to have a strong coffee. Tomorrow is a better day."

The Corrie star played Eva Price on the cobbles from 2011 to 2018, left the soap last year after being involved in a harrowing storyline which saw her ex Aidan Connor take his own life and the barmaid fight his family for custody of their baby Susie.

While appearing in the ITV soap, Catherine said that she wasn't allowed to fulfill her dream of being on Strictly.

She said: "I have spoken to (the show's producers) before but it felt like this was the right time.

"It had to work for us as a family, and this is the right time.

"When you're in Corrie they're not going to let you, they won't let you do it. They'll only let you do ITV things like Dancing On Ice."

After a gruelling start to her life in Strictly, Catherine is probably wishing that she had taken up the ice dancing challenge instead.

The main live shows will begin on Saturday, September 21.
