Coronation Street star Alan Halsall drops strong hint that he's heading for I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

Corrie favourite Alan Halsall has dropped a strong hint that he's swapping the famous cobbles for the jungle on I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

The Corrie actor, who plays mechanic Tyrone Dobbs, shared a photo of himself on Instagram in an outdoorsy setting with the caption "........it’s a jungle out there."

Congratulations have been pouring in for the soap star from followers assuming this means he must be heading to Australia later this year for the reality contest hosted by Ant and Dec.

"Can’t wait to see you on the jungle congratulations mate," messaged his former Corrie co-star Ryan Thomas with a thumbs-up.

Ryan's brother Adam came third on the show in 2016.

"You going on I'm A Celebrity?" asked another follower.

"Omg next jungle king right there," said another fan.

And another follower wrote: "Good luck with the jungle. Hope your not scared of creepy crawlers climbing into your bed at nights and nesting in your ear and sucking your blood.

"Only joking. Hope it goes well for you and you're great on Corrie."

The Walkden-raised star , 37, has played loveable Tyrone since 2008. In 2013 he won the National Television Awards Outstanding Serial Drama Performance award for his role.

He was highly praised after being at the centre of a harrowing storyline that saw him suffer domestic abuse at the hands of his partner Kirsty Soames.

Alan was married to his former Corrie co-star Lucy-Jo Hudson and they have a five-year-old daughter Sienna.

He's now dating Tisha Merry, who played Steph Britton in the soap.

If he is jungle-bound Alan will be following in the footsteps of Jennie McAlpine who plays his on-screen partner Fiz Stape.

Fiz and Tyrone (ITV)

Jennie, from Bury, came fourth in the 2017 series.

Fiz and Tyrone are currently having a tricky time with Fiz's 'demon child' Hope who set fire to the Underworld factory with a lighter hidden inside a beheaded doll.

So a plate full of witchetty grubs may seem like a piece of cake compared to life in Weatherfield.
