There are worries for mum Leanne Battersby as she struggles with the devastating news that her son Oliver's illness is terminal on next week's Coronation Street.
Oliver is with his dad Steve McDonald for the night, but a distraught Leanne heads to number 1 at the crack of dawn, still in her pyjamas.
Her worried partner Nick Tilsley follows and steers her home.
GP Dr Susan Gaddas says Leanne should consider counselling or medication to help her cope, but she refuses.
When her sister Toyah calls round to offer support, Leanne turns on her, insisting she has no idea how she’s feeling.
Nick and Toyah's partner Imran Habeeb urge Leanne not to take out her grief on Toyah, who’s just as devastated about Oliver who has the life-limiting mitochondrial disease.
Nick then suggests they should go to a support group for parents of terminally ill children.
Also on the cobbles Sally Metcalfe is appalled to learn from Cathy Matthews how her father-in-law Geoff locked his wife Yasmeen in his magic box, and when Alya Nazir asks her to be a witness for the defence she decides to go an d visit Yasmeen.
Shocked at what she hears, she tells Geoff that she's seen Yasmeen, who is awaiting trial for slashing him in the neck in self defence after months of abuse .
Tim is shocked when he walks in to find his dad furious and Sally terrified.
Geoff then applies for a prison visit to see Yasmeen, and the grandmother is horrified when she calls Alya to speak to her granddaughter, but hears her abuser's voice on the other end of the phone.
Elsewhere when garage owner Kevin Webster gets a call out for a breakdown, his mechanic girlfriend Abi Franklin recognises the name as the twins adoptive dad and says she's too busy to go.
And Kevin is surprised by what he finds out.
