Coronation Street spoilers: Residents turn on Yasmeen Nazir after Geoff 'murder'

Coronation Street favourite Yasmeen Nazir's ordeal at the hands of abusive and controlling husband Geoff Metcalfe is far from over, spoilers have revealed.

In upcoming scenes on the ITV soap, Yasmeen fights back after months of verbal abuse and manipulation from her hubby.

He's been controlling her for a while, isolating her from loved ones and not letting her leave the house - with her also doing everything he says.

Most recently he began taking her money while turning aggressive with her, and after weeks of making her constantly clean he turned up the antics and made her think she was the problem.

Yasmeen was tricked into believing she had an alcohol problem, and the latest episode saw her learn her cheating husband had given her a sexually transmitted infection.

With the wool being pulled from over her eyes, she remains trapped and events take a shocking turn when she's forced to fight back in self-defence.

Yasmeen slashes Geoff's throat with a glass bottle after he turns on her, before she tells the 911 operator she's killed him.

Geoff's fate remains unknown, but it's not looking good for his mortified wife.

Cathy has noticed a change in Yasmeen (ITV)

Now, it seems by spoilers that residents will turn against her unaware of the truth going on behind closed doors.

Geoff has isolated her from friends and family and lied to people including Peter Barlow and Cathy Matthews that she's an alcoholic.

As the police investigate the deadly incident, they turn to those on the Street who have already began talking about the pair.

They're asked about the couple and how they are together, and what might have driven Yasmeen to potentially kill her husband.

With her friends already claiming she'd changed and distancing themselves from her, it's clear something is said that makes Yasmeen look guilty.

After the police do the rounds, it isn't long before she's charged for the crime and left in a cell.

But will her former pals really turn on her in her time of need, or will Geoff finally be exposed?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm on ITV.
