Coronation Street spoilers: Daniel kisses Bethany after Bertie death scare

When baby Bertie ends up in hospital Daniel Osbourne blames himself for not continuing with his baby injections - but there's one person who he can turn to on next week's Coronation Street.

Bertie's great aunt Beth Sutherland rails at Daniel for endangering his life and Daniel ends up in Bethany Platt's arms after pushing everyone else away in shame.

Distraught, he tells his father Ken Barlow that he took Bertie for his first jab but couldn’t bear to see him in pain so didn't take him back - and now he's contracted measles and the next 24 hours are critical.

As Beth sounds off in the Rovers about Daniel, Bethany leaps to his defence.

Her mum Sarah warns Bethany to tread carefully with Daniel as she’d hate to see her get hurt after everything she's been through in the past, while Beth warns Bethany to stay away from Daniel as she’ll never replace his late wife Sinead.

But Daniel, whose wife passed away in October after battling cervical cancer, is touched to realise Bethany spent the night at the hospital to be with him in his time of need.  He thanks her for being such a good friend and helping him through his ordeal.

Back at his flat, Daniel tells Bethany to put her wet clothes in the dryer and to use Sinead’s dressing gown.

Waking from a nap in an emotional state, he thinks he can see Sinead and confuses Bethany for Sinead.

Kissing her tenderly, he asks her to stay but will Bethany agree?
