Corrie's Corey Brent makes escape over new murder evidence as exit confirmed

Corey Brent plots to flee the country on Coronation Street next week, following confirmation an exit is in the pipeline.

Actor Maximus Evans confirmed on Good Morning Britain recently that his character would bow out, and he had already "filmed an ending".

The professional footballer will be forced into action on the ITV soap after evidence of his killing Seb Franklin comes to light.

Next week, Nina Lucas reveals to Seb’s mother Abi Franklin that Corey’s blood stained clothes have been found and handed into the police.

After leaving Jack Webster with his aunt Debbie, Abi sets off alone, with Jack worried she will try and kill Corey.

Abi returns home and Debbie has read the letter where Abi confessed her plans to kill Corey, prompting Debbie to threaten to tell Kevin unless Abi leaves and doesn’t marry him.

Corey, meanwhile, confronts Stu about the contents of the backpack with the clothes but Stu feigns ignorance.

Abi decides to come clean to Kevin before leaving Weatherfield. After telling him the truth, Abi heads to Seb’s memorial garden where Kevin tracks her down and makes clear he loves her and still wants to marry her at the hotel.

As Kevin and son Jack wait at the hotel for Abi to arrive for the wedding, Nina arrives and reveals that DS Swain has told her they are reopening Seb’s murder case with plans to arrest Corey.

Meanwhile, Corey and his dad Stefan hide out at a rented house with Stefan plotting to contact Eli’s father, Christian.

Elsewhere, Abi goes to Gary Windass for aid in tracking down Corey and believes Eli’s dad will be where they go next.

At Stefan’s office, Gary hopes to find Christian but he’s turning up at the house where Stefan and Corey are.

With their things packed and cash prepared, Corey and Stefan climb in Christian’s van.

Inside the van, Stefan reveals to Corey that he plans for them to flee the country and enable Corey to continue his football career for a team in a foreign country.

The getaway is paused when the van comes to stop.

Is the game finally up for Corey or will the villain escape?

*Coronation Street airs from 7.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV with previous episodes available on ITV Hub.
