Coronation Street spoilers: A prison riot breaks out, Gail is back and Weatherfield says an emotional goodbye to Sinead

The Barlows and the Tinkers have the best intentions when they host an early Christmas dinner for Sinead next week, but the festivities are ruined by a devastated Daniel.

Struggling to cope with losing Sinead to cancer, Daniel flees the flat after a row with his ailing wife - and he runs straight into the willing arms of Bethany Platt on next week's Coronation Street.

Daniel cheats on Sinead with a kiss, which is seen by his furious dad Ken, and his wife is left broken-hearted on her death bed as he hits the bottle and goes missing.

In harrowing scenes showing the final day of her life, viewers will be left wondering if Sinead, played by Katie McGlynn, will find peace and forgive Daniel for his actions before she passes away.

Meanwhile Gail Platt returns from Thailand to find Tracy Barlow and Sally Metcalfe tearing a strip off her granddaughter Bethany - and it's clear that there's something different about Gail.

Elsewhere, a riot breaks out in the prison where David Platt is serving time for plotting to steal from his gran, and he faces a dilemma when rapist Josh Tucker is dragged into his cell and he's handed a pair of scissors.

Back home the family watch in horror as the prison riot unfolds on the news.
