Coronation Street set for double schedule change amid fears for Carla Connor

Coronation Street’s Friday TV time slot will change yet again this week, and next week for that matter, it’s been confirmed.

The ITV soap will finally return to its normal times of 7:30pm and 8:30pm soon though.

New schedule guides have confirmed that later this month, fans will see Corrie air as usual on a Friday, after weeks of the two double episodes being combined into one hour-long episodes.

In the process, BBC soap EastEnders has had to move time each week to avoid a clash for fans.

Coronation Street viewers left gobsmacked as Carla Connor's stalker is revealed

Instead of its usual 8pm slot on BBC One, it’s been moved later to 8:30pm, as to not air the same time as Coronation Street.

The move has occurred for weeks for different reasons including ITV series Vera requiring the slot, as well as the live international football coverage on the channel.

But fear not fans, all normality will be resumed, with Digital Spy confirming that the schedule for Friday April 26 sees Corrie back at 7:30 and 8:30.

This means EastEnders will go back to airing at 8pm, with viewers sure to be relieved.

There’s two more weeks of movement though, with Friday 12 and Friday 19 of April airing hour-long episodes of Corrie between 7:30pm and 8:30pm.

EastEnders is expected to air at the later time of 8:30pm for both of these days.

It comes amid drama on the Cobbles, as fans remain in the dark over who caused the factory roof collapse that killed Rana.

Carla Connor has been blamed as she was aware her factory roofing was damaged, but residents are yet to learn that the existing damage didn’t cause the disaster.

A mystery culprit was shown tampering with the roof hours before it caved in, with six suspects in the frame including Nick Tilsley, Peter Barlow, Seb Franklin and Gary Windass.
