Coronation Street schedule shake-up this week with episode cancelled as trial continues

Coronation Street fans may be left frustrated this week as there's a shake-up with the schedule.

Episodes of the ITV soap have been cancelled and not replaced this week as viewers await the outcome of Seb Franklin's murder trial.

This week fans will be tuning in to watch Kelly Neelan take to the stand to give her version of events from the night of Seb and Nina Lucas' attack.

Fellow teen Corey Brent had already had his time to be quizzed - leaving fans outraged as he lied about his involvement and cried as Imran Habeeb grilled him.

It was an emotional week as Nina finally remembered exactly what happened on the night she and Seb were chased and set upon by Corey and his gang.

A series of flashback scenes saw actor Harry Visinoni return to the role of Seb months after his heart-breaking death.

The ITV soap showed how Seb was repeatedly kicked by Corey as Kelly tried to pull him away. Meanwhile, Nina was being attacked by two other boys, Eli and Jay.

While they have already pleaded guilty, Kelly and Corey are still on trial and up to now, Corey looks set to walk away a free man.

But viewers will have to wait until the end of the week to get the verdict.

Corrie will air a double episode as usual on Monday and Friday night.

But Wednesday's trip to Weatherfield has been booted off the schedule in place of the football as England face Poland in the latest World Cup qualifier.

Tonight, Kelly takes the witness box and tells the court how Corey attacked Seb and kicked him repeatedly despite her begging him to stop.

Corey's lawyer Sabeen suggests she attacked Seb in order to impress Corey before Kelly's mum Laura takes the stand, claiming Kelly the teen is a model daughter and would never have hurt Seb.

Then with the trial coming to an end, Imran and Sabeen deliver their closing speeches while a despairing, Abi yells at the jury not to believe Corey.

Back in court the verdict is in but there's soon shocking news from the prison.
