Coronation Street's harrowing domestic abuse storyline will come to a head with a special episode on Friday night.
While it has been unfolding on the hit ITV soap for a while, Geoff's treatment of wife Yasmeen has escalated into terrifying and unnerving territory in recent months with his actions unfolding in some truly traumatic scenes, including one where he locked her inside a box and another where she was forced to eat her own pet chicken.
And Friday night's episode will focus entirely on Geoff and Yasmeen, in stark contrast to the majority of Corrie episodes, which feature a whole host of different characters involved in various storylines.
If you haven't already guessed from the many adverts teasing the episode, it will see Yasmeen finally hit back as she lashes out with a wine bottle, leaving Geoff on the ground clutching his neck.
In a clip widely aired on ITV this week and shared on social media, Yasmeen can be seen ringing 999 saying: "I just killed my husband."
Talking about the distressing scenes, Shelley King, who plays Yasmeen, says: "He has a bottle of wine on the table and food, he doesn't offer her anything. All she wants is to eat something and hug him. She wants him to forgive her.
"She is not thinking coherently, she hasn’t eaten for two and a half days properly. What she does is react like a wounded cornered animal she just wants it all to stop, she defends herself she doesn't attack him but it is him who ends up bleeding on the kitchen floor."
The episode starts on ITV at 7.30pm on Friday.
