Coronation Street bosses are planning to hit viewers with a curve ball affair in which man-eater Tracy Barlow beds a woman for the first time.
In a huge plot twist, Tracey will turn her attentions to Sophie Webster's ex girlfriend, Paula Martin.
The notorious Cobbles character, played by Kate Ford, is reportedly to have a one-night stand with Paula, played by former The Office star Stirling Gallacher.
As with most of what happens in Tracy's life, the same-sex affair will not be done quietly and before long there will be blackmail and bribery added to the mix as she tries to keep a lid on her secret and stop her partner, Steve McDonald, from finding out.
A soap source has told The Sun that the latest Weatherfield love affair will be a "new twist," with Tracy's daughter Amy being the first to find out about her mother's night of passion.
The source said: "[Tracy] and Paula will end up spending the night together after one thing leads to another.
"Amy then tries to bribe Paula into staying silent to mixed results."
With secrets not being kept very long on Coronation Street , the shock tryst is found out by Leanne Battersby, after she hears Tracy and Paula exchanging words.
It has been reported that in scenes that have already been shot, Leanne will confront Tracy and Paula and ask them: "So how long have you two been in love?"
Paula comes clean and tells Leanne: "It was one night, Leanne, regretted by both of us."
Leanne, of course, is loving seeing her old foe coming a cropper and Tracy asks her if she is enjoying her latest scandal.
"Just a little," Leanne is reported to have replied before challenging Tracy: "When did you decide you were attracted to women?”
A Corrie source elaborated: "It’s not known if Steve finds out, but when Amy gets wind of it she does her utmost to try and keep it a secret and bribe Paula into staying quiet."
