Coronation Street's Tim and Sally Metcalfe face uncertain future on cobbles after latest spoiler

Coronation Street favourites Tim and Sally Metcalfe face an uncertain future after the release of the latest spoilers from the soap.

The couple fear they may become homeless in the new year after it's revealed new resident baddie Ray's proposed development plans are set to get the go ahead.

After learning the news, Tim (played by Joe Duttine) and Sally (played by Sally Dynevor) are put at risk of leaving the famous street as they scramble to save their home, reports the Mirror.

The tense scenes will come shortly after Tim was forced to come to terms with the fact his dad Geoff Metcalfe died after falling from a roof following his shocking showdown with Yasmeen.

Ray Crosby - played by Mark Frost - has been on a relentless mission to get approval to bulldoze the famous cobbles and erect lavish flats in its place.

Upcoming runs of the hit ITV show will be emotional for all involved, after a chairperson finally confirms that property developer Ray's proposal has been given the green light by the local council.

Coronation Street's most familiar faces then come up against further turmoil as they return home to find letters nailed to their doors that say they have just two weeks to leave their properties.

Tim is also devastated to learn that the Hale Barns project has been postponed, which means that the family have no-where to move to.

Despite being set to become homeless, Tim and Sally are still required to vacate their home in two weeks before the demolition crews move in.

After overhearing the concerns, Faye (Ellie Leach) must now decide whether she reveals the truth about Ray in order to help her family.

While the residents face an uncertain future, Abi (Sally Carman) is also still confident that they can beat Ray if they all stick together - but will their efforts be enough?
