Coronation Street's Sian Reeves teases Tim and Sally's future after his worrying lie

Coronation Street star Sian Reeves has opened up on Tim and Sally's future as her character Charlie Woods appears on the cobbles.

Charlie is Tim's wife - who he was still married to when he wed current wife Sally Metcalfe.

But when she steps into Weatherfield this week, Tim begins to get caught up in a web of lies as he tries his best to push her out of his life.

This includes telling Charlie that Sally is actually his sister after letting her stay in his house for the time being. But it all becomes a little awkward when Charlie comes face to face with Sally and introduces herself...

Speaking to the Daily Star, Sian said: "Tim and Sally are such an institution and we wanted to make sure that Charlie wasn't some kind of stalker who wanted to split them up.

"She has no idea he's married to Sally and he's become a bigamist. When she turns up on his doorstep she's desperate.

"He's there turning over all the pictures of him and Sally, and them tells Charlie that she's his sister. She doesn't have a clue.

"Sally's away and Charlie needs a bit of help to get back on her feet."

She explained that Tim is like a "rabbit caught in the headlights" and ends up giving her £5,000.

Sian added: "Charlie starts to think they have a future together and then Sally returns. And she's like: 'Oh hello, you must be Tim's sister!'

"I don't want to spoil it by revealing what happens but it's brilliant and, of course, it's all been written so well."

The actress also opened up about spending most of her time in the Rovers when Charlie gets a job behind the bar.

She said: "To get a job behind the bar at the Rovers as well as living on the street, well, I found it all just so emotional.

"It was a pinch yourself moment. I've got so many memories of watching it."
