Coronation Street Chesney star Sam Aston celebrates Edinburgh stag do with co-stars

What happens on a stag do, stays on a stag do - but not if your mates are documenting your every move on social media.

That's what has been happening with Coronation Street's Sam Aston who has swapped the cobbles of Wetherfield for the, also cobbled, streets of Edinburgh as he celebrates his impending nuptials.

The actor, who plays Chesney Brown in the ITV soap, was joined in the Scottish city by his fellow co-stars Alan Halsall, Andrew Whyment and Colson J Smith and they were quick to document their antics on Instagram.

Sam is set to marry yoga teacher Briony Gardner after he took to one knee and proposed back in summer 2017.

The 25-year-old pulled out all the stops and popped the question in front of over 250 people at the annual charity golf dinner that he hosts with co-stars Alan and Andy at the Worsley Park Marriott Hotel in Salford.

The friends wasted no time in getting Sam into his party gear, with Alan, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the show, sharing a snap of him donning a ginger wig and a very mini tartan kilt.

Writing alongside the photo, the 36-year-old said: "This is the moment @samaston93 wishes he never invited me on his stag" before finishing with their own team hashtag, #McChesney.

Corrie co-stars were also looking out for the lads by taking to the comments section.

Jenny Connor actress Sally Ann Matthews said: "Those skinny little legs! Remember, you've been warned x"

Before Sam's on-screen sister Jennie Mcalpine, who is currently taking a break from the role of Fizz Stape, pleaded: "Pleeeeeeease look after my baby bro!!"

Jimmi Harkishin, aka Dev Alahan, also joined to party much to their delight.

But the posts didn't stop there as the pals headed out on the town with regular updates on his Instragram story with trips to Edinburgh Castle and the pub.

The guys were also soon playing in a giant ball pit because, you know, that's what you do on a stag.

The young actor, who has played lovable Chesney for 16 years, even grinned as he posed in a pub with a sign saying "I hate yoga", a cheeky dig at his wife-to-be.

As the real-life couple plan their big day, over on the street, Kebab shop manager Chesney is set for a shock when new girlfriend Gemma Winter, played by Dolly-Rose Campbell find out she's pregnant with quadruplets.
