Coronation Street's Sally Dynevor laughs off 'crisis' claims and says everyone is 'really happy'

Coronation Street's Sally Dynevor laughed off claims that the soap is in 'crisis' during an interview on morning television.

The actress appeared on Monday's Lorraine programme on ITV where she discussed the alleged 'crisis' after six of the soap's stars quit.

Quizzed by show host Lorraine Kelly, Sally, who plays Wetherfield's Sally Metcalfe , addressed whether her time on the cobbles would also be coming to an end.

Lorraine Kelly said: "Can I just say, I know there's been a few people leaving Coronation Street...

"Can you just nail your feet to the floor. You're not going anywhere.

"We don't want you to go anywhere."

To which Sally laughed and replied: "Oh no, Lorraine I am so happy.

"Everyone says about all of this, but it's so not true.

"Everyone is really happy. I don't know where this story has come from.

"I am nailing my feet to the floor, I'm staying, if that's OK."

Viewers of the Manchester-based soap have taken to social media to voice their concern after Lucy Fallon, who plays Corrie favourite Bethany Platt, became the latest soap star to announce her departure earlier this month.

It came just days after Faye Brookes who plays Kate Connor and Tristan Gemmill who plays Robert Preston whilst Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle Connor, announced earlier this year that she's leaving after 13 years.

The M.E.N asked its readers what they think should be done to fix their favourite soap and it produced some interesting responses that show bosses may be keen to act on.
